Question words

Estas palabras son conocidas como question words (palabras para hacer preguntas) o wh- words (palabras con wh-). Nos permiten preguntar dónde está un sitio (where), averiguar cuándo paso algo (when), saber quién hizo algo (who), qué hizo (what) y por qué lo hizo (why). 



ESTRUCTURA:

palabra wh- + verbo + resto de la pregunta

      1. Con los verbos "to be" y "have got":

Pronombre interrogativo + verbo + sujeto + sustantivo, adjetivo...?

• Where are you? (¿Dónde estás?)
• How are you? (¿Cómo estás?)

• 2. Todos los otros verbos:

StructurePronombre interrogativo + verbo auxiliar ("to do") + sujeto + verbo principal + sustantivo, adjetivo...?

• Where does she work? (¿Dónde trabaja?)
• Why do you study English? (¿Por qué estudias inglés?)

Nota: En las preguntas, a diferencia del español, las preposiciones se encuentran generalmente al final de la frase.
